Our Unique Print Capabilities
In the world of print the key to a quality finished product is the capability of a printing press and how flexible it is to produce a wide range of work. Choosing the right press is one of the biggest decisions a printer will make and getting this right is the foundation of a successful business model.
Jasmine has operated a Xerox iGen Press since 2005 in a partnership with Xerox UK, that has enabled Jasmine to grow over the years. Its path of upgrading to the latest technology when the time was right allowed Jasmine to produce quality products at competitive prices, whether a short run of 100 business cards or a large run of a 24-page marketing brochure.
Steven Maxfield, Xerox Graphic Arts Business Manager Scotland & NE England said: “Jasmine has been a long-standing progressive thinking customer of Xerox which considers print quality and consistency to be of the utmost importance. Jasmine is not afraid to invest in technology and push the envelope when it comes to finding new markets in print and this is why the company invested in Xerox iGen technology. Our top of the range print engine, the iGen has built in automated technology to detect and eliminate any print flaws during the print run.
“We consider Jasmine to be a partner, as well as a customer and are proud to be associated with their superb quality of product and excellent customer service.”
A key part of our offering at Jasmine is how quickly we can proof, set-up and print a digital print job. Some jobs from quote approval to finishing and packing can be undertaken in less than an hour, giving our clients peace of mind that when they need a fast turnaround, Jasmine has the print capability and streamlined operation that will meet critical deadlines.
The Xerox iGen is our flagship digital press giving us the ability to print in full colour, at 110 pages per minute on coated and uncoated stock weights of up to 400gsm. The press can also print on a maximum sheet size of up to 660mm x 350mm allowing Jasmine to print a six-page gatefold A4 brochure. Most digital presses either need an upgrade or cannot print this size by default.
Our press is the only Xerox iGen in the North East of Scotland and gives us the platform to offer a cost-effective, quality service every time. The advancements in digital print have led to a significant increase in smaller quantities with shorter turnaround times. Being able to deliver quickly, but not impact on quality, is key to the success of our business; our production processes are geared towards every job passing smoothly though the various stages in our print factory in East Tullos in Aberdeen.
In the last six months there has been a significant reduction in sales and marketing work due to businesses moving to online and email marketing. This work will return but not at the level it was pre-Covid, so we have to find new revenue streams and areas that are growing in print. Health and safety literature is an area that kept us very busy over the last four months since returning to full production.
The need for updated HSE booklets and forms to cover new Covid guidelines is on the rise; toolbox talk records and hazard recognition materials are all required for manufacturing and the offshore industry.
Not everything can be digitised and print will always be required in some shape or form. It has taken a pandemic to underline the importance that clear messaging and the printed word can have on our behaviour and understanding. The rumours aren’t true – print is very much alive.
